I have a lifelong love affair with food. It may very-well be an unhealthy love affair. So?! I eat, ask, wonder, talk, think, sample and read about food, recipes and cooking so much that I figured, why not create a blog?!

Copia Restaurant & Wine Bar review.
Ended up here on a night out on wash ave.  Popped in for a glass of wine and ordered the Clean Slate Riesling.  The waiter came over with a plate of the deserts and unfortunately we had to pass because we were stuffed from dinner.  The wine was amazing, although I wish they would have had flights.  What’s a wine bar w/o flights?! 
I do want to go back to try that big azz piece of cake.  I can probably share with about 10 people, lol!

Nico food review.

Went here for a #naturalhair meetup sponsored by African pride and Sunshine Natural.  While we listened to the speaker, I ordered a cheeseburger & seasoned almonds.  The almonds were amazing, as an appetizer.  Spicy with a hint of sweet.  The burger was amazing, moist without being greasy.  The fries were a great compliment.  Great meal.

I’d love to head back there.  Great food & great atmosphere!

Went for brunch with my family and ordered the chicken grinder.  The waffle fries are amazing.  I love how buttery the bread is and how well seasoned the chicken is.  Most of the folks at my table ordered breakfast, but I live for this grinder!

Breakfast blueberry cheese rolls recipe.
Found the recipe on Pinterest. it was so easy. They turned out so amazing that my husband came out his game room to say “these things are so good, I mean so good!” I think he approves 😍

Tried making a pineapple upside down cake in my cast iron skillet. I was intrigued by this method & all was well till it was time to flip… The pan was heavier than I realized, so I ended up throwing the pineapples everywhere, lol! Interesting concept, but I’ll stick to my tried and true 9x13 glass pan from now on!

1st from the freezer meal: marinated pork chops, twice baked potatoes & (fresh) asparagus.  The pork chops turned out great, I didn’t love the marinade so I whipped up a Dijon sauce to simmer them in.  The potatoes were ok, I prob should have cooked them a bit longer. Made the chicken & rice 2 days ago and I swear it tastes just as good today!  The rice comes out creamy like a risotto.  Here’s the recipe:

Preheat oven to 375.  In a 9x13 in pan, Mix
10 oz can of cream of chicken
1 cup of rice
1 tsp of garlic (minced)
1 1/3 cup water
Cajun seasoning, salt & pepper, paprika (to taste)
Season a cut up chicken (I used the legs, thighs & wings) liberally and place on top of rice mixture. Cover w/ foil & Bake for 45 minutes or until chicken juices run clear.  Pair with something green & Dinner is served!

There was a sample called goose poop, and I was feeling brave so I tried it. It tasted exactly exactly like I think poop would taste, lol!
