What Bri's Cooking

I have a lifelong love affair with food. It may very-well be an unhealthy love affair. So?! I eat, ask, wonder, talk, think, sample and read about food, recipes and cooking so much that I figured, why not create a blog?!

What Bri's Cooking Cincinnati restaurants

Blue Elephant Food review.

Wanted sushi the other night, and somehow convinced the Mr to have it for dinner. It was hot, so I didn’t really want to leave the house. I’d heard Blue Elephant in Hyde Park delivered so I was all in.  I called in and the woman said it would be 45 minutes (what?!) and that was about right.  So I recommend calling before you’re starving, lol.  It showed up still chilled which I appreciated because it was 99 degrees outside.  We ordered a dragon roll, a California roll & a shrimp tempura roll.  They were all very fresh, but a tad dry, leading me to dunk each piece profusely in soy sauce. Which I’d rather not do.  I usually let the ginger, rice, avocado do the moisturizing for me.

Will doesn’t eat sushi, but he liked the dragon roll.  I think he mostly liked the sauce on top.  We both did not care for their rendition of a California roll.  I know most restaurants make it differently, but don’t stray so far from the original and fail, um kay?  The shrimp tempura roll was good, but nowhere near as delightful as the one I order from Asiana on a near biweekly basis.  Overall the food was okay, but I wanted it to be better.  I’d give the food a C and the service a -B, mostly because how long should it take to make three rolls and deliver them 7 blocks?!
