As I continue my quest to review all the places I ate at in New Orleans, I must not leave out F&M patio Bar. Our first night in town, the kids at F&M throw the kids from Give Back Beyond Cincinnati a party, where they shut down the joint and host only us for several hours which includes an open bar #winning
So when we got there there was a tray of finger sandwiches and a cheese tray. I thought this was a bit out of character for them, b/c I vaguely remember eating jumbalaya or some other Native New orleans food last time I was there. This however didn’t stop me from digging in. My free beer of choice was the native Abita purple haze which I had taken a liking too on the bus ride down.
So we settled in around the bar eating and waiting for more food, and thankfully throughout the night trays of piping hot food kept showing up. Our group of 53ish would descend on it like a pack of wolves, so fast that I didn’t ever get a chance to photograph the food, but I was able to taste the quesadillas, mozerella cheese sticks and chicken wings which were all pretty tasty. My group agreed, because every tray that was put out, was empty within moments.
We certainly enjoyed the open bar, because before too long a group was playing flip cup in the front room, while the rest of us were dancing in the main bar area, or lounging outside on the patio. I taught some of the girls how to do the wobble and before I knew it, the dance floor was full of crazy people, pretending to line dance. All and all, it was an awesome venue with great food & of course great free drinks! cheers!
Special thanks to my trip mates, Mat (one T) and Paula who didn’t even know they’d be contributing pics to my blog!
