Maybe if I wish hard enough, I can be back in the NO, eating at Cafe Du Monde… I stopped here for beignets (pronounced ben-yays) twice while I was in town last week, they’re just that good.  The French’s take on the doughnut, a square piece of dough, fried to perfection with a whole lot of powdered sugar on top.  They are the messiest things to eat, but even I will sacrifice a new black top to eat these bad boys.  Paired with iced coffee with chicory, it is an amazing treat!
