Olive’s food review

I used to live in Clifton, and I can remember sneaking off to Olives for breakfast when I was in Grad school because it would be empty and quiet in the mornings.  Things have certainly changed.  For my brother’s birthday, we decided to go here for brunch and the place was packed.  Rightfully so, the breakfast buffet was really good.  The best part is the made to order

Omelets and waffles with fresh whipped cream.  Forget about it.  I absolutely love fresh whipped cream.   There were several selections in the warming table that I enjoyed, a couple of different baked French toasts.  I loved the one with almonds and the vegetable casserole was excellent.  I loved how plentiful the bacon was (although I’m sure my Dr would disagree).  I ordered a ham, mushroom and cheddar omelet and paired with one of their biscuits, and watched the chef mix up the magic.  I probably could have come up with a more creative combo, but I’m a big fan of the classics, lol!  It was really fluffy and delicious and entirely too much to eat in addition to everything else I got.  I was able to order only half a Belgian waffle, which worked out b/c I ended up with way to much food.  I think that’s my favorite part about buffets, you get to try a ton of different food without the pressure of having to 1. Pay for it & 2. Finish it.  The Waffle was topped with fresh blueberries in addition to the fresh whipped cream, which turned out to be an amazing combo!

The Verdict:  I give the service a B, they were really nice & helpful, but there were times that they would forgot us all together.  Not cool.  I give the food an A+ for being so well executed.  I’d definitely recommend this place for the variety and for the great price!
