J. Alexander’s Food Review.
Had dinner with my fellow Architects from work to have a little girl time!
Our waitress was really helpful, suggesting her fav meals on the menu. She suggested the French dip. We got to talking and the meals came out really quickly. Initially, I had ordered the prime rib sandwich confusing what she had suggested and asked for it medium well. My friend Jenn ordered the French dip & I switched to the same. The waitress still made my order medium well. It was a good thing, my sandwich came out perfect. Jenn & Caitlin’s French dip sandwiches came out rare and they sent them back to be cooked a bit longer. Rare just makes me feel some kind of way. If you like it, more power to you, but I love a good sear on my meat with a little pink on the inside.
I love J. Alexander’s shoestring fries, but in my quest to stop eating so much fried food, I ordered the couscous. Which was so delicious, I didn’t salivate over Jen’s fries one time (progress)! The sandwich was the star of the meal though. The bread was crispy without being too crunchy and the au jus was simply divine! While I got to share the deliciousness with my friends, I still wanted Will to taste all the goodness I was enjoying, so I saved half to take to him. He really appreciated it, but I think he ate the half too fast, because he was ready to head to J. Alexander’s to get another sandwich, LOL!
