Walt’s BBQ food review.

This past Sunday was New Life’s Annual Concert and it was simply amazing!  It was my Dad’s birthday, so afterwards, my brother suggested All you can eat BBQ at Walts.  I had been to this restaurant before and I don’t remember much about the previous visit.  This go around, the place was pretty empty, it was about 8:30 pm.  We weren’t complaining, lol!  I couldn’t pass up all you can eat BBQ, I’d been fasting for the concert, so of course my eyes were bigger than my stomach.  I ordered the ribs & chicken first and found it a little odd that they give you a pile of pulled chicken without a bun.  They did include cornbread which was delish!  I also ordered fried okra and fried apples.  Which wasn’t a great combo, but each was good in its on right.  The okra was surprisingly good.  Few restaurants get fried okra right!  My first (and last all you can eat order) was for the Brisket, which was by far the best I’d ever had.  It had such a buttery taste to it.  I’ll certainly be back for that alone!

I tried my Mom’s Catfish, and it was pretty good.  Their saratoga chips were a big hit for my 2 year old nephew, he liked them so much he shared them with his Mom & I.  He NEVER shares, but I guess he was feeling festive :-)

The lowdown: Our waitress was so sweet and we ran her all over the place, so I give the service an A.  The food was hit or miss, I wasn’t impressed with the chicken, but they have a HUGE bottle of sauce at the table, so you’re encouraged to drown anything that they serve.  The brisket and ribs were to die for, so I’ll give the food an A also.
